HAV Assessment (Hand Arm Vibration)

Our HAV service:

• IOSH accredited expert HAV assessors perform site visits to assess tools.
• Tools are categorised depending on their vibration results.
• We use a simple red, amber and green tagging system, so workers will easily know the vibration status of each tool and the recommended usage time.
• Provides detailed reports supplying recommended daily use for all assessed tools.

How can CoMech help?

In short, we test and analyse the tools your employees are using to protect them from over exposure to vibrations.

Our HAV Experts use an accelerometer, which basically reads the vibration output in three different directions. Using the different outputs as well as the official HSE vibration calculation process, it calculates a safe level of use for the tool.

Once we’ve done that, we give you, our customer, an in depth HAV report. This isn’t just a pass or fail, it’s a clear recommended daily usage. We mark this on the tool itself, along with a colour coded label and readings.
