Less downtime, more productivity
CoMech provide an onsite service to calibrate a range of assets in the food and drink manufacturing sector.
We’re experienced in calibrating:
- Temperature – including ovens, fridges and incubators
- Pressure – gauges used within your manufacturing process
- Flow – meters used for controlling ingredient addition for example
- Balances – used for precision measurements
With UKAS calibration conducted on-site, you eliminate the need for equipment transportation and reduce downtime significantly.
Our engineers can visit during your shutdown periods or during quieter production schedules to suit your requirements.
Temperature and humidity calibration
CoMech map for 9 points when calibrating your temperature controlled equipment which gives you the confidence that our calibrations for ovens, fridges and incubators are working at the optimised temperature for your manufacturing process. You’ve probably got a lot of temperature controls that need to be calibrated on an annual basis which require experienced calibration engineers to be onsite when it’s convenient to you.
Our calibration covers:
- Thermocouples
- RTD sensors (resistance temperature detectors)
- Infrared thermometers
- Digital and analogue thermometers
- Data loggers
- Hygrometers (onsite as reference and labs for the humidity chamber)
- Dew point sensors
- Humidity data loggers
Pressure calibration
Pressure gauges are essential instruments in your processing line to monitor and control various aspects of the manufacturing process. The pressure gauges that are attached to your fermentation tanks to monitor the internal pressure require an annual (at least) calibration to ensure they are measuring pressure accurately.
Our calibration covers:
- Hygienic pressure gauges like diaphragm-sealed gauges and aseptic pressure gauges
- Mechanical pressure gauges such as Bourdon Tube gauges
- Absolute pressure gauges which measure pressure relative to a perfect vacuum
- Differential pressure gauges
- Steam resistant gauges
- Corrosion resistant gauges
Flow meters calibration
Calibration ensures that the flow meters provide accurate measurements of liquids moving through the manufacturing process. Precise flow measurements are essential for accurately controlling ingredient additions, monitoring production rates, and maintaining the consistency of the final product.
Calibration helps prevent over or under usage of ingredients, reducing the risk of batch variations and potential quality issues, as well as helping you to achieve less wastage.
Our calibration covers:
- Thermal mass flow meters
- Ultrasonic flow meters
- Positive Displacement (PD) flow meters
- Electromagnetic flow meters (e.g. Magmeters)
Balances
Those balances at your factory are precision measuring equipment that are essential for your recipe to be accurate (and perfect) every time it is made. Calibration ensures that the balance provides accurate measurements every day. That way you know that the precise measurements of your ingredients that are crucial for consistency in flavour, aroma, and content. Inaccurate measurements can lead to variations in the final product’s quality and no food and drink manufacturer wants that to happen.
Our calibration covers:
- Precision and analytical balances
- Industrial platform and bench scales
- Checkweighers
- High capacity weighbridges
