Leading calibration company, CoMech have moved into a new headquarters at the Rail Technology Centre, London Road, Derby at the end of December.
The company has taken offices in Derwent House on the site providing CoMech with an increase in new office space which will include Accounts, Sales, Contract management and their IT Teams. The move will provide a doubling of Laboratory space enabling further expansion of the calibration service and the installation of a new equipment repair centre.
The move into new offices and increase in Calibration facilities and the repair centre follows the awarding of a number of new contracts which provide continued growth of the business, and marks phase one of more ambitious plans for the next three years. The new offices will accommodate a growing team and CoMech are in the process of recruiting additional staff to help support these plans.
Managing director Keith Pallett said: “This is a landmark move for the business and a confident statement in our future” “We chose the RTC because it is central to the UK Rail industry, which was opened in 1967 by the Minister for Transport, and was the location where our business originated. CoMech calibration was formed from the original British Rail calibration facility located on the very same site until privatisation and so this is poignant and proud part of our history. “Most importantly this site offers us the opportunity to expand our business further, we will be keeping our existing laboratory on Castings Road with expansion of our scope and facility already undeway.”
