Over £1700 raised for the Royal School for the Deaf Derby

Posted on 30th April 2018

As part of CoMech’s commitment to the community, this year the business identified the Royal School for The Deaf Derby as the chosen charity for 2018 and have raised £1,715.00 for the pupils at the school.

The initiative saw the CoMech staff raise money through a sponsorship event to cycle for 24-hours on 15th March 2018 at the CoMech Head Offices. Staff also raised money by selling a wide range of cakes and confectionary to business based around CoMech’s head office at RTC Business Park in Derby.

Fay Garratt, Commercial Administrator at CoMech said “After meeting Helen at the Dinner at the Roundhouse in 2017, we were so inspired to work with the Royal School for The Deaf Derby and raise a great total for the pupils. It’s been a great pleasure to be involved in the charity committee and increase the teamwork in the business with the charity challenge.”

Rebecca Curylo, Customer Account Manager at CoMech said “Being involved with the pupils at the Royal School for The Deaf Derby has been a real source of motivation to the team here at CoMech. To present the school with the final total cheque has given the team a great sense of achievement.”

Dale Bonser, Marketing and Designer at CoMech said “It’s fantastic to identify a local Derby charity that our staff have taken to their hearts. Delivering on the 24-hour cycling challenge took our staff out of their comfort zones and has developed fantastic team bonds across the business. The huge effort the CoMech staff undertook in raising the money, shows just how fulfilling fundraising can be. It’s been fantastic to work with the charity committee to raise this great total for the brilliant pupils at the Royal School for the Deaf Derby.”

We will keep updating our media channels showing the pupils attending a theme park this summer using the money raised.
